  • On January 18, Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard for $70 billion. After the completion of the deal, the games of the company will fall into Game Pass, and some projects will even become exclusives to Xbox and PC, but it has not yet been specified which ones.
  • Amazon has released the first trailer for the Lord of the Rings series. In the video, they only presented the name of the show – “Rings of Power”. The adaptation will be a prequel to the original trilogy, focusing on Sauron’s rise to power. The premiere is already this year, September 2.

  • Well-known insider Tom Henderson has revealed that EA plans to release Criterion Games’ new Need For Speed  in the fall of 2022. According to him, the studio helped in the production of Battlefield 2042, due to which the development time increased – the game should have been released much earlier.
  • Netflix has released the first trailer for the adaptation of Cuphead. The animated series is made in the same style as the game, which was inspired by cartoons of the 1930s. According to the plot, Cups and Mugs lost their souls in the Devil’s casino and must return them back.
