Riot Games has just unveiled the new VALORANT update, allowing in particular to balance the Stinger, but above all to improve the Pearl card, a few months after its arrival on the FPS. The purpose of these changes is to decrease the difficulty of the map and make it easier to move to certain places, whether for attackers or defenders. For the rest, some bug fixes have been made.

You can find the VALORANT update 5.06 patch notes below.

WEAPON UPDATES

STINGER

  • Main shot error adjusted: 1.6 after 7 bullets >>> 1.3 after 6 bullets
  • We want the Stinger to be maneuverable and deadly enough at close range, but right now, even in close combat, it feels unwieldy properly. Reducing spread should make this weapon more reliable at optimal range, provided you have learned to control its recoil.
  • Secondary fire first burst error adjusted: 0.5 >>> 0.35
  • For this supposedly more precise secondary fire mode, the first burst seemed too unpredictable to us, especially at the ranges at which this mode can be interesting.

MAP UPDATES

PEARL

Pearl is receiving small changes that aim to reduce the overall complexity of the map and make it easier to move around certain areas for both attackers and defenders.

  • Principal B  – We lowered the low wall on the left side of Principal B so he can no longer fully hide an agent.

  • Middle Shops  – Clearing this area of Middle Shops is more difficult than expected. By extending the platform, we partially preserve the positions held by the attackers, while facilitating assaults in the area.

  • Middle Shops to Middle Square  – This area of Middle Shops has also proven difficult to clear when traversing the middle area. So we removed one of the corners.

  • High Mid  – The Mid zone currently favors attackers, so we advanced a High Mid wall to remove a 50-50 check. This should help defenders hold mid.

  • Mural A  – We noticed it was difficult for both teams to go through Mural A, so we’re simplifying this space so there are fewer nooks and crannies to inspect.

  • Connector B  – This crate provided good cover for attackers passing through Connector B, but made it difficult for defenders to retake this location. We’re preserving a slight advantage for attackers, but making it easier for defenders. Closer to the site, we are moving the stack of crates from the left wall to the right wall to reduce the number of angles to manage for approaching players and to block a confusing line of sight to Hall B.

  • Principal A  – We’re removing a recess in the wall of Principal A to simplify space, which should also allow defenders to take less risk if they’re aggressive ( but hey, you should be defending the site instead ).

  • Principal A to Site A  – This location was unnecessarily complicated to cover in smoke. By slightly tightening the passage, we hope to facilitate the use of smoke bombs and buffer the defenders a little. We’re also shrinking the recess on the right a bit so it’s not too deep.
