Between September 24 and 26, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta was open to all players, which allowed many users to dive into it and discover a preview of the experience that will be offered to us. here a few weeks. But as expected, since the Call of Duty license is becoming more and more popular over time, this beta was a real success.
The developers have also specified that it was the most popular beta, having brought together the largest number of players, but also having seen the largest number of games being played.. The return of Call of Duty to Steam is obviously no stranger to this success, given that a multitude of players prefer to play through this platform. A peak of 168,000 users has been recorded, a very good score for an open beta. Also, if you’re ever wondering, beta progress won’t be saved.
Of course, that’s not to say that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be a hit, given that not everyone who’s tested the beta will necessarily buy the title when it launches, especially since its retail price may put off some. But the sequel to the 2019 opus should undoubtedly find its audience very quickly, since the feedback from the beta is very positive.
The future therefore looks bright for Activision, with the release of Modern Warfare 2 on October 28, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series. Then follow Warzone 2.0, on November 16, which will be free-to-play.
