In addition to the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, teams are busy working on several Witcher adaptations, including The Witcher 4. Today, the president of the studio clarifies us on the release date of the first episode of the future trilogy.

The Witcher 4 will be released in at least 2025

The Witcher 4 continues to be talked about. The aptly named Polaris internally will mark the start of a new trilogy. The developers confirmed this week that the episodes of this saga will be released six years apart from the release of the first opus. A question then burned everyone’s lips, when could The Witcher 4 be launched? Adam Kiciński provides part of the answer.

Questioned on the subject by IGN, the president of the studio confirmed that it will be necessary to wait at least 3 years before being able to play there. “ For Polaris (note: The Witcher 4), we are preparing the technology. This is the first project to be released with the new engine, Unreal Engine 5, so there is an additional workload to create this technology. We will clearly have to make additional efforts, ” he explained.

According to him, the development of the second and third new games of the trilogy will be easier thanks to this new technology. CD Proket RED is in any case optimistic for a release of The Witcher 4 by 2025. The title could however require a little more time depending on how the teams manage to apprehend the Unreal Engine 5. Things seem in progress in any case, since the game is already in the pre-production phase.
