When you go to launch the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign for the first time, you will have several classic modes to choose from. But very often, some, the most fond of thrills and challenges, want a “hardcore” game mode making the task much more complex and realistic. This is brought with the Realistic mode, which however is not available right away.
How to unlock the Realistic mode of MW 2?
If you want to start a game with this mode, be aware that you will first have to complete the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 story for the first time. Whether you embark on the easiest or hardest mode, once you complete the campaign you’ll unlock several things, including Realistic Mode. This can therefore be selected when you want to rediscover the campaign.
What is Realistic mode?
Realistic mode offers an advanced experience, bordering on realism, as its name suggests. The difficulty is similar to Veteran mode (see below), with, in addition, the particularity of offering a simplified HUD, to remove all indicative elements from your screen. You will then be released in the middle of nature, like a soldier.
Which difficulty to choose in Modern Warfare 2?
There are four basic difficulties, modifying the experience. If you don’t know which one to choose, here is an overview, to help you decide.
- Rookie → You are not used to FPS/license or simply want to discover the campaign without the fuss. Your chances of dying are low.
- 2nd Class → The default mode, neither too easy nor too difficult if you are an occasional FPS player, allows you to participate in the Campaign without being underwater or floating.
- Commando → Mode ideally dedicated to fans of the license and FPS who want a little challenge.
- Veteran → The ultimate mode that will ask you to focus and show off your shooting skills. Recommended for the most experienced.
- Realistic → Difficulty of Veteran mode, with an almost non-existent HUD.
As you can imagine, the lifespan of this Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will also be influenced by the difficulty chosen. If you are a good player and choose an easy mode, you will finish the campaign much faster. Note also that by completing it, you will be able to obtain rewards for the multiplayer.
