Many gamers appreciate that a game has a Photo mode. This allows them to immortalize certain moments of their adventure and share their best shots on social networks. Lately, most titles have this feature, either as soon as they officially launch or a bit later (like God of War (2018)  and God of War Ragnarök, for example). Fans of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt  and lovers of “virtual photography” will soon be able to have fun.

Next-gen update adds Photo Mode to The Witcher 3

As you certainly know, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will host a next-gen update in December 2022. While this will bring many graphical improvements to the software as well as some new features, a very specific feature will also be added. Indeed, the Photo mode arrives on the third opus narrating the adventures of Geralt de Riv, and this through the said update.

Moreover, during a REDstream, which took place on Wednesday November 23, the development studio CD Projekt RED briefly presented the Photo mode, to come, on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. According to the information shared during this livestream (from 3:10 in the video below) we will be able to configure several elements, in particular the position/tilt of the camera or the depth of field. We will also be able to manage the overlay, add effects, modify contrast and lighting, among others.

Moreover, the development team suggests that photo contests will most likely be organized. In an article  recently published on the official website, we can read the following mention in particular: “ Capture the moment with the added photo mode! Does this mean there will be a photo mode contest in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in the near future? Maybe ”. If so, CD Projekt RED will notify the community via social media.

As a reminder, the next-gen update of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, intended for the PS5, Xbox Series and PC, will be available on December 14. This is free for all those who already own the game.
