Since the official launch of Activision and Infinity Ward’s new free-to-play battle royale, Warzone 2.0, players on PlayStation (PS4/PS5) or Xbox (Xbox One/Xbox Series) consoles ask if an active PS Plus/Xbox Live Gold subscription is required to play the title.

Warzone 2.0: Is a PS Plus/Xbox Live Gold subscription required?

As you probably already know, an active subscription to PlayStation Plus (PS Plus) or Xbox Live Gold allows players to play titles with a multiplayer dimension, but also to invite their friend(s) ) to join them on said game and go through it together. In addition, through a subscription to these services, they have exclusive discounts and free titles, among others. Thus, for most multiplayer games, PS Plus/Xbox Live Gold is required. But is this also the case for Warzone 2.0 ?

Just like Call of Duty: Warzone, in order to play Warzone 2.0,players do not need to have a PS Plus/Xbox Live Gold membership. The new battle royale from Activision and Infinity Ward is therefore, as you will have understood, completely free-to-play. This means that all you need is a Microsoft/PlayStation Network account and an Activision account, as well as an internet connection, to discover and browse Warzone 2.0.
